Federal Fiscal Restraint
The biggest threat to our nation is the streak of red-inked budgets – funded by loans – that have resulted in a whopping $16 trillion debt. This irresponsible spend-today, pay-tomorrow behavior must stop now. Congress must take serious action and make tough decisions to cut the federal budget and live within our means as a country.
I support the Balanced Budget Amendment. We need to cut spending to the level of federal revenues, and prohibit the President from submitting debt-laden budgets. In addition, we need to reduce the massive federal government, cut bureaucracy and eliminate waste. These are “lean” measures necessary to our survival.
We must act now to quit victimizing our children and grandchildren, who will otherwise be burdened with repaying the burgeoning deficits throughout their lifetimes. They deserve a better legacy.
