Robert Blaha brings proven business expertise to Congress
Robert Blaha has thirty-five years of business leadership at the highest level, both in founding companies and in making existing organizations more efficient. He is a nationally recognized expert in analyzing leadership and business processes to streamline organizations, cut costs, and increase productivity – and he intends to bring those skills to where they are needed most: Washington, D.C.
In 1993 Robert founded Colorado Springs-based Human Capital Associates after thoroughly analyzing major initiative “disconnects” within organizations. He saw what was missing and what was broken, and built HCA to address those gaps. HCA’s methods in leadership development, business transformation, and lean6sigma process improvement have resulted in improved organizational productivity and billions of dollars in savings for his clients.
His success has come from listening, studying, and creating coalitions to benefit businesses and nonprofits of all sizes.
After a successful career in industry, where Robert held key and senior management positions with four major corporations, he turned to small and startup businesses, directly creating jobs and opportunities in the community. His most visible effort was to co-found Integrity Bank & Trust in Colorado Springs, and he currently serves as Vice Chairman of its Board of Directors.
In the last five years, Integrity Bank and Trust assets have grown over 175%, wealth management has grown almost 240% and employment has grown 190%; all this during a time when economic indicators within the 5th CD have trended downward.
Robert is an internationally sought speaker on leadership and organizational change, and has authored numerous articles and three books on the topics: Beyond Survival, The Archer Chronicles and The Lean6sigma Accelerator. He has also been cited and featured in Quality Digest, HR Magazine, Chief Learning Officer, Industry Week and Harvard Management Update as an expert on Business Transformation.
Robert holds a BBA from the University of Iowa where he was the Forest Evashevski Scholar Athlete. He also is a graduate of the University of Michigan’s Human Resource Executive Program.
Stirred by the economic crisis and national loss of jobs, and driven to secure the future for his children and grandchildren, Robert is turning his focus from creating prosperity for his family to serving his nation as the next U.S. Representative from Colorado’s 5th Congressional District.
